MAINTENANCE PLANT SUPERVISOR

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404-bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center.

We are currently seeking an experienced Hospital Maintenance Plant Supervisor for an immediate full-time, day shift position in our Plant Operations Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Plant Operations selected candidate will oversee, coordinate and inspect the daily activities of Maintenance Plant Supervisor. Overseeing & inspecting all work performed by assigned staff. Informing the Assistant Director of abnormalities or field conditions that may prevent assignments from being performed in a timely manner. Assessing & recommending safety and skills training of assigned staff to ensure a well-developed Maintenance shop.

OTHER DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Maintaining shop inventory.
  • Laying out work from blueprints, models, or verbal instructions.
  • Calculating quantity of material needed and requisitioning hardware, and other supplies.
  • Evaluating problematic systems/facilities to determine appropriate installation or repair services needed to be performed.
  • Performing initial evaluations of building systems and distributing work assignments.
  • Evaluating worker performance to ensure quality operations.
  • Investigating work site accidents and preparing relevant reports.
  • Developing and implementing maintenance procedures. Maintaining personnel records.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have current/recent relevant supervisory experience.
  • 4 years experience as a Lead General Mechanic or equivalent title or 2 years of satisfactory experience as a Mechanic A at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
  • Excellent communication & computer skills
  • Must possess the ability to lift 50lbs
