Patient Information Representative (Full-Time)
Multiple Units Available | Jamaica Hospital Medical Center

Units:

  • 6 South Medical
  • Emergency Room (ER) Nursing
  • OBGYN NS – 2 North
  • Rehabilitation

Schedule: Full-Time (35–37.5 hours/week)

Union: LCL 1199
Weekend Availability: Required – must be available every weekend

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, a member of the Medisys Health Network, is a 404-bed, fully accredited, community-based teaching hospital and a Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We are currently seeking Patient Information Representatives for immediate openings across multiple clinical units.

As a Patient Information Representative, you will play a critical role in supporting patients, families, and clinical staff by ensuring accurate information flow and exceptional customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Utilize EPIC software to input, update, and retrieve patient information
  • Assemble patient charts for admissions
  • Assist patients with services, hospital policies, and healthcare-related questions
  • Coordinate communication between patients, families, medical staff, and administrative teams
  • Interview patients or representatives to identify care-related concerns
  • Investigate patient inquiries or complaints and follow up to ensure resolution
  • Maintain knowledge of community resources and refer patients as appropriate
  • Explain hospital policies, procedures, and services clearly and professionally

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current or recent EPIC experience required
  • Minimum one year of secretarial/clerical experience
  • Prior OR scheduling experience highly desirable
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work variable day or evening shifts
  • Must be available to work every weekend
