PATIENT INFORMATION REPRESENTATIVE
PART-TIME 22.5 HRS./WEEK 

MUST BE AVAILABLE EVERY WEEKEND

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404 bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and level I Trauma and Stroke Center.

We are currently seeking a part-time Patient Information Representative for immediate opportunity in our in our Labor & Delivery Unit.  As a Patient Information Representative, you’ll be a vital member of our L&D Department. Our ideal candidate must be flexible and able to work variable day or evening shifts .

DUTIES

• Utilizing EPIC software to input, update and retrieve patient data.
• Assisting patients in obtaining services, understanding policies and making health care decisions.
  Assembling charts for patient admissions.
• Coordinating communication between patients, family members, medical staff, administrative staff, or regulatory agencies.
• Interviewing patients or their representatives to identify problems relating to care.
• Maintaining knowledge of community services and resources available to patients.
• Referring patients to appropriate health care services or resources.
• Investigating and directing patient inquiries or complaints to appropriate medical staff members and follow up to ensure satisfactory resolution.
• Assisting and explaining policies, procedures, or services to patients.
