Lead Radiology Operations at a Major NYC Teaching Hospital
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center (JHMC), a 384-bed academic teaching hospital and Level I trauma center in Queens, is seeking an experienced Radiology Manager to oversee operational, clinical, and regulatory performance within our Diagnostic Imaging Department.

This leadership role is ideal for a licensed radiologic technologist with proven imaging department management experience who is passionate about quality improvement, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational efficiency.

Position Overview
The Radiology Manager is responsible for daily operational leadership of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, ensuring high-quality imaging services, regulatory compliance, optimal staffing, and excellent patient care.

This position works closely with radiologists, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to support departmental performance and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Diagnostic Imaging Department
  • Supervise and mentor radiologic technologists and imaging staff
  • Monitor productivity, staffing levels, and workflow efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with NYS Department of Health, Joint Commission, and ACR standards
  • Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
  • Manage equipment performance, vendor coordination, and capital planning
  • Support staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations
  • Collaborate with radiologists and hospital leadership to improve clinical services
  • Maintain high standards for patient experience and service delivery

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
  • New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist
  • ARRT Registered (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Minimum 3 years of radiology supervisory or management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced imaging certification (CT, MRI, or Mammography)
  • Experience managing imaging operations in a hospital or academic medical center
  • Strong knowledge of Joint Commission, ACR, and NYSDOH regulatory standards
