Polysomnographic Technologist – Sleep Lab
Full-Time | 12-Hour Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 8:15 AM
Salary: $85,000/year

A successful sleep study depends on much more than attaching sensors and monitoring equipment. It requires a technologist who understands what they are seeing, recognizes significant events as they occur, maintains accurate recordings, and produces quality studies physicians can rely on.

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking an experienced Polysomnographic Technologist to join our Sleep Lab within the Department of Respiratory Medicine.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform overnight polysomnographic studies for pediatric and adult patients
  • Apply electrodes and sensors and ensure accurate, high-quality recordings
  • Monitor and document sleep stages, respiratory events, cardiac activity, oxygen saturation, and patient behavior
  • Perform CPAP/BiPAP titration as ordered
  • Score sleep studies accurately and prepare findings for physician interpretation
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout testing
  • Troubleshoot and maintain sleep-monitoring equipment
  • Provide patient education related to sleep studies and PAP therapy

Requirements

What You’ll Need

  • Associate Degree (2-year degree) in Polysomnography
  • Minimum 1 year of polysomnography experience, including experience scoring sleep studies
  • Current New York State authorization required to practice as a Polysomnographic Technologist
  • Appropriate qualifying sleep technology credential
