Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has a career opportunity for Human Resources Specialist.  Selected candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support for HR Talent Acquisition Staff.

  •   Conducting and recording new hire reference checks.
  •   Assisting with new hire and onboarding process.
  •   Submitting and maintaining online job postings.
  •   Updating termination files.
  •   Entering and processing applicant OMIG, SEL, OIG and SCR background checks.
  •   Coordinating orientation and training sessions for new employees.
  •    Acting as an employee relations specialist
  •    Ensuring compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
  •    Participating in special HR projects (ie. I-9 audits, file audits).
  • ·   Managing the position requisition process.
  • ·   Processing transfers and promotions.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years recent / relevant onboarding and Human Resources experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, follow-up, problem-solving and creative thinking
  • Excellent organizational skills, and ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
  • Proficient with MS Word & Excel.
