Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, a 384-bed fully accredited community teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center, is seeking an experienced RN leader to join our Rehabilitation Unit as an Assistant Nurse Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated nursing professional to support unit operations, mentor clinical staff, and help drive exceptional patient outcomes in a collaborative rehabilitation environment.

As part of one of Queens’ leading healthcare organizations, you will work alongside an interdisciplinary team dedicated to compassionate, high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily clinical and operational oversight of the Rehabilitation Unit.
  • Supervise and delegate responsibilities to nursing staff to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to nursing team members.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case management, and leadership to coordinate patient care plans.
  • Monitor patient progress and assist with care plan adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, safety protocols, infection control practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with staffing coordination, workflow management, and shift operations.
  • Address patient and family concerns professionally and effectively.
  • Promote accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Participate in staff education, onboarding, and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Rehabilitation, medical-surgical, or inpatient acute care experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse, supervisory, or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment
