Care Advocate – Person Centered Service

Jamaica Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Person-Centered Service (PCS) Care Advocate to join our team. Reporting to the Network Director of Person-Centered Services, the PCS Care Advocate plays a key role in improving the patient experience within the MediSys Health Network by implementing proactive service recovery methods.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and hospital staff to address concerns, complaints, and service-related issues.
    Escalate unresolved matters to appropriate personnel when necessary.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop, implement, and participate in Person-Centered Care activities.
  • Promote a culture of Person-Centered Care by advocating for patient needs and ensuring a compassionate, respectful healthcare experience.

Requirements
  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Preferred: Degree in Health Services, Social Services, or a related field.
  • Experience: Equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant experience will be considered.
  • Strong personal qualities, including empathy, respect, integrity, understanding, and good judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Windows).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual preferred

Job Type: Full-time, Day Shift
Salary: $35.0406/hr.
Hours:  Monday – Friday 8 am – 4 pm
