Jamaica Hospital has a career opportunity for a Performance Improvement Specialist. The Performance Improvement Specialist works with and under the direction of the Network Director of Performance Improvement Measures and Analytics, to develop, plan, organize, direct, and lead the JHMC Performance Improvement Program.

His/her scope of responsibility encompasses all settings of the organization. The PI Specialist has a detailed understanding and can skillfully use the concepts of performance improvement methodologies, system design, data management, statistical analysis, and reports. The PI Specialist will work collaboratively with departments to improve performance in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan, mission, and vision. The PI Specialist should be familiar with all the external measures being reported out and monitored, like Sepsis, VTE, Perinatal Care, HBIPS, among other CMS and TJC quality reporting programs. The PI Specialist should be able to perform chart reviews and chart abstractions to comply with the external measure requirements. They should be able to facilitate a performance improvement project and present it to the leadership.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare Related Field or equivalent experience. Clinical experience preferred.
  • For licensed personnel, a current NYS license is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Access.
  • Strong knowledge in the application of Performance Improvement methodologies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
