PHYSICAL THERAPIST – PER DIEM $70/hr.

DEPARTMENT:  PHYSICAL MEDICINE/REHAB

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center currently seeks per diem Physical Therapists to perform evaluations and treatments, and be involved in other aspects of healthcare. It is a Level 1 Trauma center, with a very busy Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF), acute care (Med-Surg), and OPD areas. You will work with a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary team. Holiday and weekend coverage is required.

DUTIES

• Administer physical therapy evaluations and treatments under the clinical direction of a licensed physician.
• Applies age-appropriate evaluation and establishes treatment plans based on subjective and objective findings
• Applies treatment modalities and techniques within the APTA standards of practice and within established precautions and contraindications 
• Accurately enters and submits patient-related documentation in a timely fashion 
• Participates in quality improvement chart reviews 
• Provides direct supervision to Physical Therapist assistants, Rehab Aide, and Physical Therapy students in accordance set by APTA and the facility.
• Assisting with developing and implementing discharge planning to ensure safe discharge 
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to help residents achieve goals set forth in the treatment plan
• Follows departmental policies and procedures.
