RESPIRATORY THERAPIST, REG

The Respiratory Care Department at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is a 24-hour a day division of the hospital comprised of NYS licensed respiratory therapists. The help of a respiratory therapist and respiratory therapist technician at our facility in New York can ultimately restore your quality of life.

Our Respiratory therapists are essential members of our multidisciplinary healthcare team.  The Respiratory Therapist renders respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by a physician.  Additionally, he/she consults with other health care practitioners in the management or prevention of cardiopulmonary disorders. 

We are currently seeking two Respiratory Therapists to cover our full-time night shift, 7:00PM – 7:30AM, 37.5 hours per week, rotating weekends.   Come join our exceptional team of Respiratory Therapists!

Job Responsibilities:

• Assemble and verify operation of equipment
• Initiate, monitor, manage and regulate patients on mechanical ventilation for all age groups
• Initiate, monitor and regulate oxygen therapy, aerosol and humidity therapy
• Perform intubation, extubation and trachesotomy care
• Perform arterial puncture and blood gas analysis
• Administer aerosol medication treatments and perform bronchial hygiene
• Participate in Cardiac arrest , Rapid Response and Trauma teams
