Jamaica Hospital Medical Center currently seeks a Patient Access Training Associate for an immediate full-time opportunity.   

Patient Access Training Associates are required to be excellent communicators, comprehend and create relevant training materials, work closely with individuals and evaluate how well employees understand and retain course content.  The Training Associate should have extensive knowledge in healthcare insurance and public health programs.  The Training Associate should be well-versed and proficient in utilizing proprietary EMR application(s) in order to properly register patients.  The Training Associate must continually assess current training techniques in order to develop and cultivate one's skill set.  The Training Associate must be detail-oriented, mission-focused, able to effectively multi-task, and provide relevant feedback to both trainees and management.  The Training Associate must be able to assess progress and tailor his/her teaching methods to yield the most positive outcome possible.  The Training Associate must, at all times, maintain knowledge of changing healthcare industry standards and incorporate pertinent/updated information into his/her training curriculum.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate and assist in selecting and documenting relevant course material(s), research course content for accuracy, and work with subject matter experts in developing appropriate training methods based on department/discipline.
  • Ability to motivate personnel to utilize training resources in order to enhance the educational experience.
  • Improve the productivity and performance of an organization's employees.
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
  • Schedule classes based on departmental needs, relevance, availability of classrooms, equipment, and instructors.
  • Attends meetings and seminars to keep abreast of current Patient Access best practices and trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in healthcare or five (5) years relevant job experience in a healthcare registration and/or insurance- related field.
