The Department of Internal Medicine at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center offers comprehensive primary and preventative healthcare to the community. As the largest clinical department at Jamaica Hospital, we provide general internal medicine care and other services under various subspecialties.

Our physicians are highly trained in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of acute medical conditions and chronic diseases that affect adult patients.  We currently are seeking an experienced Administrative Coordinator for an immediate full-time career opportunity.

As the Administrative Coordinator, you will provide administrative support and secretarial functions for the department Chairman and administration staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinating and monitoring the review and analysis of documents to facilitate resident and attending credentialing and re-appointment process.
  • Handling and addressing inquiries regarding the residency program and assisting when needed in interview scheduling.
  • Organizing and maintaining file management systems.
  • Maintaining and updating Chairman's appointment calendar schedule.
  • Routing department messages and correspondences
  • Performing word-processing duties to prepare and type correspondences, reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Assisting with special projects.
     
Requirements
  • Minimum High School degree, College strongly preferred
  • 3 years of relevant secretarial experience
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of standard office software is essential, including proficiency with word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software (e.g., Microsoft Office, preferred).
  • Ability to multi-task and/or coordinate multiple assignments is required.
  • Ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures, and effectively communicate detailed information to a diverse population, both verbally and in writing; excellent problem-solving skills is required.
