The Department of Family Medicine, Ambulatory Care, and Community Medicine at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is an integrated healthcare system dedicated to improving the health of the communities we serve. For more than (4) decades, we have integrated biological, clinical, and behavioral sciences to provide continuing and comprehensive family medicine for newborns, children, adults, and seniors. Our residents, attending physicians, and strong support teams have the unique opportunity to serve the most culturally rich and diverse patient populations in the country.  We are currently seeking a Physician Assistant with primary care/family medicine background for an immediate per diem opportunity in our Family Medicine practice.

DUTIES:

As a member of our team, you will serve as a principal healthcare provider working with

pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations.  Typical duties will include:

• Taking initial patient histories and performing physical examinations.
• Evaluating, diagnosing, developing, and managing treatment plans
• Ordering and interpreting lab tests
• Counseling patients
• Performing various medical procedures and assisting in surgical operations
• Conferring with attending physicians, residents, and other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
