This position is inactive
  • Full administrative support to the Chairman of Pediatrics.
  • Supervise onboarding of new department staff and administrative staff as needed.
  • Liaison between Ambulatory Care Staff and NICU Staff to ensure that all NICU “High Risk” infants receive specialized care necessary for growth and development.
  • Work with the NYS Department of Health, Newborn Screening program (NBSP) to process newborn screening test results and specialist referrals.
  • Maintain records of 3,500+ newborn screening results by birth year and scan into medical record.
  • Process payroll and time off request for the Newborn Medicine and Pediatric Departments.
  • Data entry of all NICU admissions through the Perinatal Data System records via the NYSDOH Health Commerce website.
  • Liaison between the NYSDOH, NBSP and Jamaica Hospital Medical Center on policy matters.
  • Track UPS shipments of newborn screening specimens to the newborn screening program.
  • Compose and distribute meeting minutes and materials for monthly Neonatal Patient Care Committee Meeting.
  • Manage monthly schedules for NICU Attendings’, Nurse Practitioners and Pediatrics. Also, manage Cardiology On-Call schedule.

 

Requirements
  • Associates degree minimum requirement
  • 2+ years of administrative assistant c-level experience.
  • Technical knowledge in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher).
  • Experience with Epic preferred
  • Must be flexible team player with ability to implement standard operational program policies and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
