Jamaica Hospital Medical Center (Medisys Health Network) is a 408-bed fully accredited community teaching hospital, with a Level I Trauma Center, located in Queens, NY. We currently have an Assistant Head Nurse career opportunity in our Telemetry Department. Job Duties: The will Assistant Head Nurse report to Clinical Nurse Manager. Selected candidate will manage a 39 bed Telemetry unit. He/she will be responsible for creating an environment in which autonomy is nurtured, encouraged and reflected in a highly competent workforce capable of providing quality care. Job Responsibilities: · Coordinates care delivery and assignment of staff based upon identified patient care needs and clinical competency for optimal unit operation and patient outcomes. · Manage staff shift assignments (i.e. validate incoming shift assignment and scheduling staff for extra/open shifts). · Conducts daily start of shift huddles with staff to ensure high-quality patient care services is being provided and staff performance is consistent with departmental program and organizational goals. · Conducts patient experience rounds on all patients to address concerns and provide service recovery in real time to ensure excellent clinical patient care service outcomes. · Assist and support staff with clinical tasks and duties. · Collect data on performance Improvement (PI) projects and monthly assessments on Sepsis review tool. Requirements

• Registered Nurse License-NYS, • Current ACLS, BLS from American Heart Association • BSN degree required, Master's Degree in Nursing or health-related area preferred • Three years of clinical practice in the care of patients requiring Telemetry monitoring • The ability to apply nursing process toward the achievement of clinical outcomes and objectives • The ability to work inter-professionally to organize and address patient/family satisfaction
