Social Worker – Social Services

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking compassionate and dedicated Social Workers for full-time opportunities on our Medical-Surgical and Float units.

Position Highlights

  • Full-Time
  • Salary: $43.90 – $58.55 per hour (based on experience)
  • Excellent PTO and 1199 Union Benefits
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and discharge planning.
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention for patients and families.
  • Connect patients with community, financial, and social service resources.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Advocate for patients’ psychosocial and emotional needs.
  • Facilitate referrals and support services as needed.
  • Investigate and address cases involving suspected abuse or neglect.

Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW).
  • NYS LMSW or LCSW required.
  • Hospital experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
