CLINICAL NURSE MANAGERS – EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (2 POSITIONS)
Full-Time | Flex Days (7a–7:30p) | Nights (7p–7:30a) | Jamaica Hospital Medical Center | Queens, NY

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, a 402-bed fully accredited teaching hospital and Level I Trauma & Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center, is seeking two experienced Clinical Nurse Managers to lead our Emergency Department (ED). Our ED treats over 117,000 patients annually and includes a pediatric emergency room, chest pain center, and fast track area for minor injuries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support ER nursing staff, including scheduling, mentoring, and performance evaluations
  • Ensure optimal nurse-to-patient ratios and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with physicians, EMS, and support services to optimize patient flow
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives for patient safety and outcomes
  • Oversee complex care plans and provide clinical guidance in high-acuity cases
  • Participate in discharge planning, education, and staff development
  • Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and hospital policies
  • Lead departmental meetings and serve as a liaison with leadership

Requirements
  • BSN required; MSN preferred
  • NY State RN License required
  • Minimum 5 years clinical ED nursing experience, TNCC required
  • Minimum 2–5 years progressive leadership/supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered emergency care
