SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST

The Department of Surgery at Jamaica Hospital is a trusted trauma center. Our team of highly qualified general surgery specialists offers comprehensive surgical care in multiple specialties, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are currently seeking experienced Surgical Technologists for immediate full-time positions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting with setting up operating room.
  • Preparing and transporting patients for surgery.
  • Passing necessary tools and instruments to surgeon.
  • Assisting surgeon during operations.
  • Conducting pre-op, intra-op and post-op surgical counts.
  • Applying bandages to patient and assist in transporting them from operating room
  • Removing tools and surgical instruments for sterilization
  • Preparing operating rooms for next surgery.

Requirements
  • Diploma from accredited Surgical Technologist program
  • 2 years of operating room experience (or equal background) Certification for Surgical Technologist
  • BLS through the American Heart Association
  • Well organized and able to work under high pressure.
