We are currently seeking a part-time Radiology Ambulatory Care Representative who will work weekends (Saturday & Sunday, and one weekday)

DUTIES:

  • Ensuring EMTALA protocols are adhered to by initiating registration after triage completion.
  • Printing and placing Identification bracelets on all patients.
  • Registering all patients who present to the Medical Emergency Department, Mental Health Emergency Department, and Pediatric Emergency Department.
  • Obtaining ID and insurance cards and scanning them into EPIC.
  • Obtaining, verifying, and updating all registration elements (PCP, Pharmacy, Contacts) according to established policies.
  • Reviewing medical record histories to ascertain past ID and insurance information.
  • Verify insurance eligibility via RTE or insurance portals at the time of registration.
  • Checking patient eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, and Healthfirst payors.
  • Obtaining patient signatures on registration and COB forms.
  • Interviewing ER patients to follow up, verify and update demographic and insurance information.
  • Operating facsimile and scanning equipment to obtain/transmit medical insurance data.
  • Completing account notes with Admit/Observation action steps taken.
  • Marking accounts for Financial Office review.

Requirements
  • High school Diploma/GED required;
  • 1+ year working in the medical/and or medical insurance field;
  • Knowledge of medical terminology;
  • Proficient technical skills, preferably with EHR / EMR systems (i.e. EPIC);
  • Prior experience or exposure to governmental and third-party payors;
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
