REGISTERED NURSE – CANCER CENTER
Full-Time Days  M-F | Jamaica Hospital Medical Center | Queens, NY
Salary: $55.92/hr. plus differentials

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, in partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), is seeking experienced Oncology RNs to join our outpatient Cancer Center. This state-of-the-art clinic provides cancer screening, consultations, and coordinated care under the direct oversight of MSK providers.

We are looking for skilled, compassionate nurses with prior oncology experience to deliver high-quality care to our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, evaluate, and address the needs of oncology patients.
  • Provide direct patient care, including chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion management.
  • Administer and monitor IV therapies, central lines, and infusion pumps safely.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Translate and explain cancer care options, treatment side effects, and symptom management to patients and caregivers.
  • Complete, document, and update electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and timely.
  • Assist with urgent or emergent patient care situations, including triaging complications.
  • Manage patients with complex or multiple chronic health conditions.
  • Promote patient-centered care and provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and hospital standards, including USP <797>/<800>, OSHA, and Joint Commission guidelines.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
  • Valid NY State RN license & registration
  • Prior Oncology RN experience required
  •  Oncology Certification (OCN) preferred
  •  Strong chemotherapy/biotherapy and infusion nursing competency
  • Critical thinking, triage skills, and ability to handle complex oncology scenarios
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and oncology documentation
  • Strong communication, organization, and patient advocacy skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
