Jamaica Hospital Medical Center currently seeks Recovery RNs for immediate full time Night Shift opportunities on our Post Anesthesia Care Unit.  Selected candidates will oversee patients and assess their status to ensure they are safely regaining consciousness and waking up from anesthesia.  Other responsibilities will include:

DUTIES:

• Monitoring post-operative patients’ levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia.
• Monitoring and recording patient vital signs.
• Treating pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administering medication as prescribed. 
• Checking and updating patient files, charts, and medical records.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, physicians, and other members of the patient’s care team.
• Educating patients and families regarding post-surgery care.
