MEDICAL ASSISTANTS -SURGICAL SUITE

TJH Medical Services, PC is a physician group network.  Since 1993, it has grown to be one of New York City’s largest physician networks. TJH is affiliated with Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and Flushing Hospital Medical Center.  We are currently seeking experienced Medical Assistants with general surgical practice experience, for immediate full-time opportunities.   Under physician supervision selected candidates will assist with all Medical/Laboratory procedures including the following:

DUTIES:

• Performing venipunctures, EKGs, and processing labs.
• Assisting during general surgery, urology, vascular, ENT and neurosurgery procedures.
• Cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
• Maintaining medical inventory.
• Maintaining patient records.
• Explaining common medical procedures to patients and assisting in basic examinations.
• Ordering for Patients
• Recording patient information in EMR, Pre-visit planning, telephone encounters, In-basket messages.
• Works with leadership to participate in Quality Improvement initiatives; collaborates with care teams in huddles, patient experience. and implementing patient-centered clinical integration to achieve quality outcomes.
