PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT – PHYSICAL MEDICINE REHAB

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has an exciting career opportunity for a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform evaluations, treatments, and be involved in other aspects of healthcare. It is a Level 1 Trauma center, with very busy Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF), acute care (Med-Surg) and OPD areas. You will work with a culturally diverse and a multi-disciplinary team. Holiday and weekend coverage required.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Provides clinical services as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to appropriate patients as per PT's treatment plans.
• Reports to the Physical Therapist information relating to the patient’s progress, complications, and/or response to treatment. 
• Maintains confidentiality of all patients, facility, and physician-related information. 
• Documents patient care provided and completes accurate billing and coding in Electronic Medical Record (EPIC)
• Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team. 
• Attends and participates in family meetings as appropriate. 
• Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and the facility. 
• Conducts staff training/education as appropriate via formal and informal in-services and consultations.
