The Department of Ophthalmology at  TJH Services, offers a wide range of comprehensive medical, diagnostic, and surgical services for those with vision and eye conditions. Services are offered by some of the leading general, specialty, and pediatric ophthalmologists in Queens, NY.

We are currently seeking experienced Front Desk Office Coordinators for several immediate full-time career opportunities within our high-volume physician practices. 

SUMMARY:  Under the supervision of the Manager / Supervisor, selected candidates will perform various front desk clerical duties.  The specific task will include:

  • Scheduling, confirming, and maintaining patient appointment schedules for high-volume multi-physician practice.
  • Arranging patient transportation, and maintaining and recording daily transactions.  
  • Securing insurance verifications, referrals, and pre-authorizations for patient visits and testing.
  • Conducting initial patient registration process to obtain and record patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Answering phones, accessing call priorities, and routing calls accordingly.
  • Receiving and receipting cash and credit card payments and posting in the secured web portal.
  • Entering and balancing daily monies and cash drawer transactions.
  • Identifying procedure and diagnosis codes to verify insurance and pre-authorization procedures. 
  • Monitoring and marinating inventory management systems.
  • Utilizing the EMR system to input, update, and retried patient data.
Requirements
  • Must have minimum (2) years current or recent medical office experience directly handling pre-authorizations, insurance verification, and or call center scheduling.
  • Medical Secretarial School preferred or related experience.
  • Previous clerical experience is desirable, preferably in a medical setting.
  • Computer literacy is required.
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
  • Billing experience is desirable.

SALARY: $23/hr. - $25/hr.
