TRADES HELPER

PLANT OPERATIONS                                                                                               

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404 bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center.  Our Plant Operations Department offers comprehensive services including a full range of building trades services which are responsible for routine maintenance and minor/major space alterations, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, grounds maintenance, locksmith, custodial, moving, and setup services. 

We are currently seeking experienced Trades Helpers for immediate full-time day shift opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to and under the direct supervision of the Engineering Supervisor selected candidate will: 

  • Assist Engineering personnel with trade duties including construction, maintenance, refurbishing, and installations to maintain hospital property and facility
  • Cleaning general engineering areas and the campus of debris.
  • Repairing and correcting basic building maintenance problems.
  • Emptying garbage and keeping engineering areas clean.
  • Moving and relocating engineering and hospital equipment as needed.
  • Performing other related tasks as needed

 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have basic knowledge of building maintenance, basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
  • Must be flexible to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays when required,

SALARY: $21.5304/hr. - $22.7262
