Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 424 bed fully accredited community based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off-campus, ambulatory surgery and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are proud of our uncompromising commitment and approach in providing the highest levels of professional, compassionate care to the many culturally diverse, undeserved patients and residents in Queens. We are currently seeking a full-time Supervisor for our Plant Operations Department.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Selected candidates will operate and maintain facility boilers, chillers and auxiliary equipment.  Maintaining and operating power generator. Coordinating plant operations and supervising the work activities of plant personnel. Training  and mobilizing personnel to facilitate plant objectives. Participating in the preparation and administration of plant operations budget; submitting  budget recommendations and monitoring expenditures. Preparing  analytical and statistical reports on operations and activities

Requirements

REQUIRED LICENCES/ CERTIFICATIONS

  • Minimum High School or equivalency degree required.
  • 5 years’ experience as a Stationary Engineer in commercial, institutional or large physical plant maintenance.
  • Experience in a healthcare facility maintenance environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission/NFPA Standards preferred.
  • Experience managing computerized maintenance management work order system is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication & Computer skills
