Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has an exciting career opportunity for a Risk Management (RM) Clinical Coordinator. The RM Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating risk management activities including proactive assessments, incident reviews, investigations, root cause analysis, risk reduction strategies and reporting to regulatory agencies as required. Additionally, the RM Clinical Coordinator promotes a just and safety culture, applying a continuous learning approach to errors through education, policy, and system development.

Our ideal candidate will have a solid clinical and risk management background and the ability to work independently with medical staff, legal counsel, and administrative/clinical personnel.

DUTIES

  • Assisting with DOH and Joint Commission surveys and facilitated mock tracers. 
  • Facilitating Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis. 
  • Maintaining NYPORTS database.
  • Preparing and submitting executive summary and risk reduction strategies.
  • Participating   in departmental and interdepartmental Quality Improvement committees.
  • Facilitating practices to increase patient and employee safety and reduce medical errors and health system financial loss.
  • Orienting and training new staff on hospital-wide Performance Improvement policies and procedures.
  • Abstracting charts and reviewing incident reports to identify areas requiring corrective actions. 
  • Responding to patient grievances. 
  • Collaborating with trauma coordinator to successfully achieve trauma recertification in the Emergency Department

 

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare Related Field (Required), Master’s degree preferred
  • Certified Professional in Health care Risk Management (CPHRM) is preferred.
  • Experience with incident reviews and leading corrective actions; 2 years (Required)
  • 3-5 years acute hospital experience, preferably in behavioral health, with a general knowledge of Risk Management activities.
  • Ability to review medical records to produce accurate and complete summaries of events.
  • Able to write reports and manage data.
  • Experience with incident review, investigation, and reporting.
  • Active participation in Root Cause Analysis and implementing/monitoring risk reduction strategies.

SALARY: $100K - $110K  PLUS FULL BENEFITS
