Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Pulmonary Function Lab

Jamaica Hospital’s Division of Pulmonary Medicine offers a wide variety of services to help diagnose and treat patients with lung disease. Our team of highly-skilled physicians, experienced respiratory therapists, and compassionate staff are committed to using new and innovative treatments for patients with advanced lung disease.

We have a full-time Respiratory Therapist opportunity in our Pulmonary Function Lab. The Respiratory Therapist shall be responsible for working closely with the Pulmonary attending, Pulmonary fellows and supervisor to coordinate the work in the pulmonary function laboratory and bronchoscopy suite.

Job Responsibilities:

• Pulmonary Function Testing, Body Plethysmography, Methacholine Challenge, Exercise Testing and Six Minute Walk Test on adult and pediatric patients
• Assist with the performance of Bronchoscopy on adult patients
• Asthma Education and Smoke Cessation Counseling
• Monitoring of Conscious Sedation
• Maintenance of all equipment in the PFT Lab
• Perform arterial puncture and blood gas analysis
