Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, a proud member of the Medisys Health Network, is a 404-bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and a Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We provide a comprehensive range of medical services, including general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency care, ambulatory surgery, and advanced diagnostic and treatment services.
We are currently seeking a Rehabilitation Registered Nurse for immediate full-time opportunity in our Rehabilitation Unit. Flexible night (7 PM – 7 AM) shift available.
Position Overview:
As a Rehabilitation RN, you will focus on helping patients regain independence and function following an illness, injury, or surgery. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, to develop individualized care plans, and provide direct patient care, education, and emotional support to both patients and their families.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, psychological, and functional needs.
- Collaborate with physiatrists, physical therapists (PTs), occupational therapists (OTs), and other specialists to develop individualized rehabilitation plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Administer medications, treatments, and wound care as prescribed.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including eating, dressing, mobility, and hygiene.
- Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and families on their condition, treatment plans, and recovery process.
- Provide training on self-care techniques and strategies for preventing complications.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting progress, interventions, and changes in condition.
- Work closely with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
