Physician Assistant – Neurology

The Department of Surgery at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is comprehensive surgical care facility.  We provide multiple surgical specialties, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  As a trusted New York trauma center, our team of highly qualified general surgery specialists work hard to deliver compassionate care to people from all walks of life.  We currently have full time & per diem opportunities for professional, competent Physician Assistants within our Department of Surgery.

DUTIES:

As a member of our multi-specialty team , selected Physician Assistants will serve as a principal healthcare providers. Typical duties will include:

• Taking initial patient histories and performing physical examinations.
• Evaluating, diagnosing, developing and managing treatment plans
• Ordering and interpreting lab tests
• Counseling patients
• Performing various medical procedures and assisting in surgical operations

Conferring with attending physicians, residents and other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care
