Patient Care Associate (PCA) – Telemetry Dept

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404 bed fully accredited community based teaching hospital and level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We are seeking Patient Care Associates for immediate full-time and part-time opportunities in our in our Telemetry Dept.

DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of unit Registered Nurse Staff, selected candidates will assist with the routine care of assigned patients. Typical duties may include but not be limited to:

· Measuring patients’ vitals, such as temperature and blood pressure.

· Listening to patients’ health concerns, recording them, and reporting them to a nurse or physician

· Preparing patients for exams

· Responsible for checking EKG and Phlebotomy

· Performing basic lab tests and sterilizing medical equipment

· Prioritizing and adjusting work plans based on the needs of the patient, the unit, and the patient care team.
