MRI Technologist
The Radiology Department at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is proud to be designated as a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology and recognized for our patient-centered approach to providing quality care. As a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, the department strives to uphold and exceed the high standards of the ACR.

The Radiology Department currently has Full-time and per diem job opportunities for experienced MRI Technologists.
Job Description:
Perform a variety of MRI imaging procedures using Siemens equipment for body, neuro, and musculoskeletal scans, ensuring high image quality
Properly review and verify patient identity, history, and exam requisition, following hospital protocol
Greet and triage patients, ensuring their safety throughout the process
Explains procedure to be performed to patient prior to scan and answers any questions throughout scan
Input patient history into the system and review relevant medical documentation
Explain procedures to patients and administer contrast media or medications as needed in accordance with established procedures
Performs a thorough screening of patients prior to procedure and ensures patient
safety is maintained at all times.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following established protocols
Assist and train new hires in equipment use and departmental procedures
Help patients with transfers, dressing, and exam preparation
Conduct thorough patient screenings and ensure no metal objects accompany them into the procedure room
Position patients on the exam table and enter relevant anatomical information
Recognize and address equipment malfunctions as needed
Completes other job-related duties as assigned
