DISPATCH SUPERVISOR – CENTRAL TRANSPORT
EVENING SHIFT: 3pm – 11:30pm OR 4pm – 12:30am

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is actively seeking a Dispatch Supervisor for immediate full-time opportunities within our Central Transport Service Department. This role is essential in coordinating, supervising, and managing the daily inpatient transport operations of our facility.

Only candidates who fully meet the below minimum requirements will be considered. Applicants lacking the required experience will be automatically disqualified from consideration.

 
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dispatch Supervisor will oversee the assignment and dispatching of patient transport assignments, ensuring efficient and timely patient flow throughout the hospital. Responsibilities include direct supervision of transport staff, processing department calls, facilitating system improvements, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Assigning and dispatching patient transport requests
  • Processing incoming department calls professionally and efficiently
  • Monitoring daily transport activity and recommending operational improvements
  • Supervising transport staff and maintaining performance standards
  • Performing administrative tasks to achieve departmental goals

Requirements

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE):

  • College Degree preferred
  • Prior current/recent relevant dispatch transport experience – required
  • Excellent leadership, communication, customer service, and organizational skills – required
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology – required
  • Experience using EPIC (Electronic Medical Records) – required
  •  Availability to work alternate weekends and holidays – required
  • Computer proficiency and data entry skills

SALARY: $26.58/hour
