About Us
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is a 384-bed teaching hospital and Level I Trauma & Stroke Center. We are seeking dedicated Machine Waxers / Porters to join our Environmental Services team. Immediate openings are available for both full-time and part-time positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and clean carpet and hard surface floors.
  • Operate commercial machines for stripping, scrubbing, buffing, waxing, refinishing, sealing, and spot-cleaning floors.
  • Disinfect and clean floors, walls, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Properly store and maintain cleaning equipment in an organized manner.
  • Handle spills, trash removal, and ensure safety and cleanliness throughout the facility.
  • Follow Infection Control procedures for medical waste and biohazards.
  • Perform general custodial duties as needed.

Requirements
  • Recent floor care experience required.
  • Ability to lift and move moderate to heavy objects.
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills.
  • Previous cleaning or custodial experience preferred.
