FIRE SAFETY MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: SAFETY
Location: Jamaica, Queens
Work Schedule: Full Time Days
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a fully accredited community based teaching hospital and level I Trauma and Stroke Center . Due to our recent expansion, we are currently seeking a full time Fire Safety Manager for our Safety Department.

DUTIES
• Coordinate and maintain testing documentation of fire protection equipment in accordance with NFPA, The Joint Commission and NYC Fire Department requirements. Fire protection equipment includes fire alarm systems, central station equipment, kitchen fire suppression equipment and fire extinguishers.
• Conduct and document fire drills including quarterly per shift, specialty areas (MRI, Surgical, Kitchen and Behavioral Health) and drills required in conjunction with Interim Life Safety
• Conduct and document Interim Life Safety Assessments for construction projects and life safety deficiencies.
• Manage Hot Work Authorization and Fire Watch process.
• Handle regulatory fire safety inspections and violation orders.
• Ensure that NYC Fire Department fire protection permits are current.
• Respond to emergency fire alarm conditions.
• Investigate fire alarm activation incidents.
• Conduct fire safety training.
• Conduct fire safety inspections and participate in multi-disciplinary environmental rounds.
• Assist in development of fire plan and fire safety policies.
• Assist the Director of Safety with other safety responsibilities.
