The MediSys Health Network and its member hospitals, Flushing Hospital Medical Center, and Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, are teaching facilities, dedicated to Medical Education. The Graduate Medical Education Office (GME) seeks a bright, enthusiastic, and task oriented individual to join our expanding team. We are currently seeking a Medical Education Coordinator for an immediate full-time opportunity. GME serves as the official institutional liaison between MediSys Health Network, and external partners. In addition, GME oversee Medical Education, for various medical schools and external training programs. The GME Office oversees and monitors the coordination of all Medical Students, Rotating Residents and Fellows, (300+ annually) including onboarding and credentialing.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Within this important and highly visible role, selected candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all activities related to Undergraduate Medical Education. This role requires an ability to serve as a liaison, prioritize tasks, and maintain communication with external partners.

DUTIES:

o Supporting Medical Education Leadership in the daily operation, goals, and objectives of the department.

o Manages operational activities and ensures department goals and objectives are accomplished.

o Jointly oversee the planning and implementation of medical education activities related to onboarding/offboarding and credentialing, including orientation activities.

o Manage scheduling of all CORE and Elective rotations.

o Serves as the main point of contact a liaison between GME Office Leadership, Medical Students, Clerkship Directors, Program Directors, and Residents/Fellows, and internal and external partners. o Interacts and proactively shares information with internal and external contacts where appropriate. o Efficiently manage internal database and New Innovations Program Management database.

o Perform all related medical school billing operations including processing payments and tracking expenditures.

o Prepares agenda, takes, and distributes minutes for various meetings.

o Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations.

Requirements

o Bachelor’s Degree; equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.

o Three (3) years of administrative experience, preferably in an Healthcare/Academic Setting.

o Excellent written and oral communication skills.

o Ability to handle multiple tasks and demands, establish priorities, and work effectively in a deadline driven environment; accuracy and attention to detail in the performance of duties is of critical importance.

o Ability to use judgment, discretion, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

o Excellent analytical, organization and planning skills. o Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications

Salary: $26.67 -$30.77 per hour
