Clinical Nurse Manager – Telemetry

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center (Medisys Health Network) is a 408-bed fully accredited community teaching hospital, with a Level I Trauma Center, located in Queens, NY. We currently have a Clinical Nurse Manager career opportunity in our Telemetry Department.
Job Duties:
The Clinical Nurse Manager will report to the Director of Critical Care/Telemetry, selected candidate will manage a 39 bed Telemetry unit. He/she will be responsible for creating an environment in which autonomy is nurtured, encouraged and reflected in a highly competent workforce capable of providing quality care.

Job Responsibilities:
• Coordinates care delivery and assignment of staff based upon identified patient care needs and clinical competency for optimal unit operation and patient outcomes
• Establishes and maintains a unit-based quality and performance improvement program consistent with departmental program and organizational goals
• Participates in inter-professional programs for quality improvement that cultivates an environment which promotes patient, family, physician, and staff satisfaction and excellent clinical patient outcomes
• Gather, evaluates, and uses data to drive practice changes that integrate quality, safety, patient experience, and productivity metrics for excellent clinical and nursing outcomes
• Manages unit budget with consideration to appropriate staffing, skill mix, patient outcomes, and safety
• Identify and address learning needs of all staff members.
