Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has an exciting career opportunity for a Risk Management (RM) Clinical Coordinator. The RM Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating risk management activities including proactive assessments, incident reviews, investigations, root cause analysis, risk reduction strategies and reporting to regulatory agencies as required. Additionally, the RM Clinical Coordinator promotes a just and safety culture, applying a continuous learning approach to errors through education, policy, and system development.

As the ideal candidate, you will have a solid clinical and risk management background and the ability to work independently with medical staff, legal counsel and administrative/clinical personnel. Also, you will work to increase patient and employee safety and reduce medical errors and financial loss to the health system. Willing to train the right candidate for an entry level position.

Requirements
  • 3-5 years acute hospital experience, preferably in critical care, with a general knowledge of Risk Management activities.
  • Ability to review medical records to produce accurate and complete summaries of events.
  • Able to write reports and manage data.
  • Experience with incident review, investigation and reporting.
  • Active participation in Root Cause Analysis and implementing/monitoring risk reduction strategies.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) is preferred.
