Central Services Equipment Aide
Full-Time | $26.18/hour | Full 1199 Union Benefits

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, a member of the MediSys Health Network, is a 424-bed community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We are seeking Central Services Equipment Aides for immediate full-time opportunities in our Central Sterile Supply Department.

Every procedure depends on having properly processed, sterile instruments ready when they are needed. We are looking for dependable, detail-oriented professionals who understand the importance of Central Sterile in supporting safe patient care.

What You’ll Do

  • Retrieve, sort, clean, and decontaminate used instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Inspect, prepare, assemble, wrap, and sterilize instruments and procedure trays.
  • Operate and monitor sterilization and decontamination equipment, reporting problems as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver sterile instruments, equipment, supplies, and medical carts to designated areas.
  • Maintain sterilization records and monitor inventory, supply levels, and expiration dates.
  • Follow established infection prevention, safety, and sterile processing procedures.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Sterile Processing and Distribution Certification required.
  • Minimum one year of hospital-based experience required.
  • Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to safely handle delicate instruments and equipment.
    Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

Compensation & Benefits
