Jamaica Hospital Medical Center’s Department of Rehabilitation is comprised of a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services and is staffed with highly-skilled therapists and physicians. Our Speech Therapy/Audiology division offers Comprehensive evaluations and treatment for newborn audio screenings, audio logical assessments for children, adults, and seniors and Comprehensive speech-language and swallowing evaluations and treatments.  Due to our expanding operations we are seeking an Audiologist with strong patient / customer service experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Audiologist provides Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) and Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) screening for all patients in the Well Baby Nursery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The audiologist will also perform clerical responsibilities and patient scheduling.

Requirements
  • Must have a Master’s degree or doctorate in audiology
  • Must have a certification in audiology or hearing conservation
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, techniques and medical procedures
