REGISTERED NURSES –  PEDIATRIC UNIT

12/HR SHIFTS 

The Department of Pediatrics at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center provides comprehensive healthcare to infants, children, and adolescents. Our department is highly integrated and is staffed by physicians and other medical professionals trained in primary pediatric healthcare as well as a wide variety of subspecialties that include but are not limited to:

  • Cardiology
  • Dentistry
  • Pulmonology
  • Infectious Diseases
  • Critical Care Medicine
  • Nephrology
  • Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  • Emergency Medicine

We are currently seeking experienced Pediatric RN’s for immediate full time flex day and night shift opportunities in our Pediatric Unit.  Our ideal candidates will have 1-2 years current/recent Pediatric experience.  Must be able to handle the challenges of a busy fast paced environment, be quick-thinking, with strong assessment skills and the ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure.

DUTIES

  • Providing nursing services for infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Recording patient health histories.
  • Conducting routine screenings and examinations.
  • Interpreting Laboratory Test.
  • Formulating care plans.
  • Administering vaccinations.
  • Evaluating children for pain management and signs of abuse

Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program – BSN preferred
  • NY State RN License required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Pediatric RN preferred
  • New Grads Considered
  • AHA BLS and PALS required
  • Must have strong assessment and communication,
