Physician Assistant – Surgery 
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center | Queens, NY
Full-Time | Day Shift | Weekend Flexible

Compensation:
$72.75 – $81.95 per hour (DOE) + Full 1199 Union Benefits

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and physical exams
  • Diagnose and treat patients in collaboration with surgical teams
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies
  • Perform bedside procedures within scope of practice
  • Participate in rounds and interdisciplinary meetings
  • Provide patient and family education
  • Ensure accurate and compliant documentation
  • Follow hospital policies, protocols, and patient safety standards
  • Maintain required clinical privileges and certifications

Requirements

Critical Requirement:

  • Must be flexible to work 37.5 hours/week
  • Available for 1–2 weekend days per month

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current NYS PA License
  • NCCPA certification required
  • Current BLS & ACLS certifications (ATLS preferred)
  • Prior surgical experience required
  • Strong clinical judgment and teamwork skills
