The Department of Ambulatory Care at Jamaica Hospital provides patients with a wide array of primary and specialty care in an outpatient setting. Our St. Albans MediSys Family Care Center offers a vast array of general and specialized medical services and procedures, including: Breast Surgery, Dental, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Gynecology, Lupus Center, Neurology , Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Rheumatology  and more.

We are currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses with current or recent outpatient / ambulatory care experience for immediate full-time opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Selected candidates will administer care to patients of all ages, gender, and ailments. Duties will include:
•  Assisting Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, RNs, and other members of the health care team with triaging and rooming patients.
• Document nursing observations, interventions, and patient’s response to treatment.
• Perform vital signs, administer medications, perform electrocardiograms and assist with scheduling appointments when needed.
• Collect specimens and performing phlebotomy for lab tests.
• Collect and perform Point of care testing (POCT).
• Review and maintain vaccine documentation.
