The Department of Radiology is currently looking for a Full-Time Physician Assistant.
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center’s Radiology Department offers a wide variety of state-of-the-art diagnostic and specialty services performed by over 16 Board Certified and sub-specialty trained radiologists, supported by highly trained and experienced technologists.
With several upgrades and improvements to the department, our patients can now undergo their testing in a new and more comfortable environment. The department has two CT scanners, one located in the Emergency Department, which operates 24 hours, 7 days a week, and the other CT, a 128-slice scanner, located in the Radiology Suite.
DUTIES:
As a Physician Assistant in our Radiology Department, you will have the opportunity to manage all aspects of care, including medicine, pre-op, and post-op responsibilities. The Physician Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the responsible Attending. Additional responsibilities will include:
- Opportunity to work with our board-certified and fellowship-trained Radiologists
- Assist with various procedures, Ultrasound, mammography, MRI, Flouroscopic procedures, Diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, etc.
- Perform initial and follow up evaluations, either independently or in conjunction with the physician
- Document office encounter notes
- Prescribe medications appropriately and manage prescription refill requests
- Respond to patient phone calls to facilitate patient care delivery
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention
- Write post-operative orders
- Complete all necessary paperwork for billing of services.
- Obtain/maintain hospital privileges at all hospitals where a practice physician has privileges.
