Medical Assistant

The Department  of Surgery at Jamaica Hospital currently seeks experienced Medical Assistants for immediate full time career opportunity.  Our ideal candates will have prior hands on Medical Assistant experience.  Department will cross train individuals to work within (8) specialty areas.

• As a Medical Assistant  you will be responsible for conducting screening and intake procedures with patients and their caregivers.
• Performing but not limited to other tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.
• Greeting patients and their caregivers on arrival.
• Utilizing PC terminal and software programs to input, update and retrieve patient data and records.
• Communicating and relaying pertinent information to appropriate office staff.
• Advising and assisting patients and caregivers with information regarding office procedures, policies, and protocols.
• Addressing patient inquires, concerns, and complaints.
• Performing general administrative duties as needed.
