LEAD PLUMBER

 SALARY: $28.97/hr.  – $30.38/hr.                            

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404 bed fully accredited community based teaching hospital and level I Trauma and Stroke Center.  We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off campus, ambulatory surgery and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Plumber for immediate full time opportunity  in our Plant Operations Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under the direction of our Electrical Supervisor selected candidate will distribute and schedule work for assigned staff. 
• Oversee & Inspect all work performed by assigned staff. 
• Inform Construction/Maintenance Supervisor of any abnormalities or field conditions that my prevent assignments from being performed in a timely manner.
• Assess & recommend safety and skills training of assigned staff to ensure a well-developed Plumbing Shop.
• Maintains shop inventory. 
• Layout work from blueprints, models, or verbal instructions. 
• Calculate quantity of material needed and requisitions hardware, and other supplies.. 
• Maintain familiarity with applicable building codes and other regulatory agency codes. 
• Perform the responsibilities of Plumber A as needed
