Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 424 bed fully accredited community based teaching hospital and level I Trauma and Stroke Center . We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off campus, ambulatory surgery and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are proud of our uncompromising commitment and approach in providing the highest levels of professional, compassionate care to the many culturally diverse, undeserved patients and residents in Queens. We are currently seeking (2) Nurse Educators / Education Specialist for our Professional Development & Organizational Learning Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provision of educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care within established clinical protocols.
• Collaboration with patient care staff and unit management in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula.
• Initiation of clinical skills development programs within the parameters of established clinical and preceptorship models
• Implementation of educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.
• Serve as a clinical resource for unit management and team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Educate team members in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training and workshops.

Requirements
• Current NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse • Current BLS / ACLS certification; BLS/ACLS Instructor preferred • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Administration or Informatics • MUST have demonstrated clinical experience/expertise in Critical-Care Nursing • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications • Effective interpersonal skills and proven leadership ability • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
