Clinical Nurse Manager – ASU

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 424 bed fully accredited community based teaching hospital and level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off campus, ambulatory surgery and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager for our Ambulatory Surgery Unit. Specifically, a Nurse Leader experienced in ASU and possibly Endoscopy. Selected candidate will directly oversee PACU, Endoscopy, ASU and Ambulatory Infusion areas. Other duties will include:

DUTIES
• Directing, organizing and supervising the work of ASU nursing staff,
• Assisting in the development of nursing care, policies/procedures, administration and future planning.
• Coordinating and assigning work schedules for current staff members.
• Interviewing and selecting new nursing staff
• Conducting regular competency assessments and performance evaluations of nursing personnel
• Effectively gauging and monitoring the quality of patient care and making appropriate operational changes as needed.
• Regularly initiating and participating in performance improvement activities and information management.
