Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Temporary Hospital Medicine Nurse Practitioner (Hospitalist NP) to join our dynamic inpatient Medicine team. This is a high-impact clinical role providing comprehensive care to hospitalized adult patients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

COMPENSATION

Base Salary: $159,462.85
Additional Differentials (Day Shift Eligible)

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Hospital Medicine NP, you will function as a key provider within the inpatient medical team, managing patients from admission through discharge while collaborating closely with physicians, specialists, nursing staff, and care coordinators.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage daily inpatient care for acute and chronic conditions
  • Perform comprehensive admissions including H&P evaluations
  • Conduct daily rounds and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, ECGs, etc.)
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage complex medical conditions
  • Coordinate safe and efficient patient discharges
  • Complete discharge summaries, prescriptions, and follow-up planning
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis and treatment plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary hospital teams to ensure optimal care delivery

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license and national certification
  • Strong inpatient, acute care, or hospital medicine experience preferred
  • Ability to manage high-volume, medically complex patients
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Experience with admissions, inpatient management, and discharge planning preferred
