PACU Nurse – Full-Time, Day Shift

Location: Jamaica Hospital Medical Center

Shift: 12-hour day shift
Salary: $55.92/hr + differentials

At Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, we are committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our diverse community. Our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team plays a critical role in ensuring patients safely recover from anesthesia and surgery while providing exceptional nursing care.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PACU Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide post-operative care to patients following surgical procedures, monitor vital signs, and collaborate closely with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients’ post-anesthesia recovery, including vital signs and neurological status
  • Assess and manage patient pain, comfort, and overall condition
  • Provide patient and family education on post-operative care
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and escalate as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care

Requirements
  • Active RN license in New York State
  • Previous PACU experience preferred
